The branch office announced that it was able to eliminate more than 85,276 birr worth of food, beverage, materials and tobacco products by monitoring the performance of the facilities in the first quarter of the fiscal year.

The General Manager of the branch office, Ato Belayneh Gebru, stated that the inspection work carried out by the institutions has resulted in the removal of tobacco smoke, the removal of expired products that may harm the community, the introduction of standards through feedback and the creation of a user community with the guiding principle that “I am the authority for my health” are tangible changes that have come about during the inspection process. The General Manager added that in addition to the main tasks of inspection and inspection, the office has also carried out free treatment and drug sharing activities to solve the problem of corruption and good governance, and that various activities have been carried out to ensure that our country, Ethiopia, can join the ranks of vaccine-producing countries by implementing the Maturity Level Series. Considering the harmfulness of illegal food and health practices in the area, the participants said that it is appropriate to take preventive and educational measures and punish and educate those who are engaged in illegal practices.

The General Manager of the Office, Ato Belayneh Gebru, who gave the concluding remarks, said that the authority will work diligently to prevent and control various problems such as working without a qualification certificate, possession of expired products, selling medicines without a prescription and taking measures and monitoring the institutions according to the set standards. He urged the community to stand by the authority through the established health forum to expose and educate the illegal practices in the area.
