Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority Arada Branch Office is carrying out comprehensive campaign and awareness campaigns to condemn tobacco with youth associations, women's organizations, various community groups and stakeholders to make Addis Ababa free from tobacco smoke.

Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority Regulatory Sector Deputy General Manager Ato Enga Erekta stressed that the government has issued a strong Tobacco Control Proclamation 1112/2011 to protect the health of the community as a country and is carrying out extensive work, and that we should all work with a firm stance to make Addis Ababa free from tobacco smoke, recognizing that tobacco causes social unrest.

In addition, they conveyed the message that by working to prevent tobacco use, parents and stakeholders at all levels need to play their role in educating our children and society so that tobacco smoke does not harm our young children and society.

The office is carrying out campaign activities and awareness-raising activities at the city level under the theme "Let's expose the ways to nicotine and tobacco addiction!" based on World No Tobacco Day.
