The role of school leaders and security personnel in tobacco prevention and control is irreplaceable.

Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority Arada Branch Office is working with school principals, police and law enforcement agencies, and peace and security stakeholders to make Addis Ababa free from tobacco smoke.

The office has launched a city-wide campaign called "Let's expose the ways that lead to nicotine and tobacco addiction!" In the campaign launched to publicly condemn tobacco based on the theme of World No Tobacco Day, school principals, police and law enforcement agencies, security agencies and stakeholders at all levels are carrying out extensive campaign and awareness-raising activities to make Addis Ababa free from tobacco smoke and create a comfortable environment for its residents, as well as to prevent the community and youth from being exposed to tobacco smoke and addiction.

It was pointed out that teachers, security agencies and stakeholders should protect the community, especially youth and students, from tobacco smoke and educate them about the complex health effects of tobacco and be responsible for it, and that school principals should work to create a healthy generation and a healthy learning process by strictly monitoring their students and not allowing them to be exposed to addiction.
