Women were trained to prevent and control themselves from breast cancer and cervical cancer.
March 5/2017
The Authority, in collaboration with the Addis Ababa Health Bureau, provided training to female employees of the institution to prevent and control breast cancer and cervical cancer in conjunction with the issues of women and children they work with in mainstreaming.
The Authority’s competent sector, Ms. Tigust Bedada, attended the training and stated that women are more likely to be exposed to various non-communicable diseases due to the overlapping responsibilities they have and the lack of a culture of early prevention in our country. She said that it is necessary to develop our preventive culture by understanding the problems that are being faced and gaining a sufficient understanding of the severity of diseases from the training.
Ms. Bruktawit Abebe and Ms. Bemeema Nega, who came from the Addis Ababa Health Bureau, provided extensive training on the nature of the disease, the impact of the disease, the causes of the disease, key symptoms of the disease, as well as the concepts of prevention and control.
The coordinator of the institution's Menstruation and Women and Children's Affairs, Ms. Dina Getachew, said that the trainees who participated in the training on prevention and control are working with Zewditu Memorial Hospital to prepare for the disease.
