The Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority has reviewed the work done in the first half of the 2018 fiscal year for the relevant organizations, the business community and the public.
Therefore, it held an extensive review discussion with branch leaders on the ideas raised by the public, professional ethics and practices, and set future directions.
Among the directions set:-
• The supervision and monitoring work that has been started in food and health institutions should be continued in order to create a comfortable environment for the participants of the African Union Summit
• Extensive work should be done on professional ethics through training, monitoring and support, and the discipline of professionals should be maintained;
• Risk-based regulatory activities should continue to be strengthened
• Immediate action should be taken on regulatory findings that may harm the health of the community
• It is expected that any institutional capacity will be ensured and that the leadership at all levels of regulatory work will be guided with determination and special attention, thereby establishing a transparent system.
• In addition, the implementation of the technology that has been initiated should be completed and efficient service provision should be provided.
