In order to ensure that the services provided in food and health institutions meet the standards that suit the city and are in line with Ethiopian decency, the Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority is carrying out a number of works in food and health institutions.
In terms of regulating hotels and entertainment venues for guests,
The Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority is conducting a control work in accordance with the standards in the services they provide in thirty hotels. It is being seen that the gaps found in the control work are being corrected daily.
This control and monitoring work is being carried out daily until the guests check in and leave, especially in the entertainment venues and health institutions where the guests stay.
Work underway to ensure the health of the participants of the Union
Fifteen health institutions have been selected at the federal level regarding the provision of health services and reception.
The authority is conducting control and monitoring work on health institutions located in the area of the African Union Summit and the hotel where the guests will stay.
Emergency medical preparedness, oxygen preparation, medicine supply, bed service, preparedness of professionals, etc. will be checked to ensure that they are in accordance with the standards; where gaps are identified, immediate adjustments will be made.
Thus, all the medicines needed for the emergency room have been completed. Oxygen has also been provided in full. Medical professionals have been made available 24 hours a day. The health institutions will be monitored daily to ensure that they continue to provide complete services to the guests.
In addition to this arrangement, the Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority urges Ethiopian food and health-related institutions, as well as health institution owners, to continue this culture and tradition of welcoming and escorting Ethiopian guests, to maintain this culture and tradition, to adopt appropriate behavior and ethics, and to provide services in accordance with the characteristics of the institutions; and to implement practices that will make Ethiopia and their institutions the best in the future.
