The Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority Gulele Branch Office held a discussion with stakeholders and security agencies regarding the implementation of the 2018 budget year 6-month plan, service delivery, and the authority’s guidelines and regulations.

In its report on the past 6 months of the fiscal year, the office stated that many works have been carried out in terms of providing efficient and effective services to the community while maintaining the quality and standards of health institutions and professionals, ensuring their competence, and monitoring food and health-related institutions.

Ms. Tagist Bedada, Deputy Director of the Addis Ababa Food and Drug Control Authority, who attended the forum and delivered her message, said that in order to protect the health of the community in our city, we provide monitoring and support to ensure that the quality, efficiency, quantity and standard of the resources are provided. In addition to providing professional support to food and beverage service providers in the city to provide quality services, we are also taking corrective action against institutions that violate the law and are implementing a recognition program for institutions that operate according to the standards set by the institution.

The branch manager, Ms. Mekdes Kassa, said that in order to improve service delivery, they have held better discussions with stakeholders on laws, regulations, procedures, and ethical issues, and that they have carried out support, monitoring, and control activities for various institutions to protect the health of the community.
