Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority conducted a review of the fiscal year's plan and the first quarter's plan implementation in the presence of the sector's leadership and stakeholders from the center to the cluster.

During the review session, the Authority’s Planning and Budget Specialist, Ato Samsom Legesse, presented the Authority’s detailed plan activities for the fiscal year, the work done by the Initiative in the first quarter, the major activities carried out to ensure efficiency, the findings of the food and health-related institutions, the actions taken against 263 institutions, the disposal of spoiled and expired food and health-related products worth 23,300,000 birr, and the disposal of expired medicines worth 5,477,864 birr, the work done in tobacco control, the problems encountered during control, and the future directions of focus.

The participants of the discussion also expressed their views that the Authority is carrying out intensive work, that working together with stakeholders brings results and that it needs to be strengthened further, that bakeries, juice shops, packaged food and beverages exposed to the sun should be closely monitored, and that the services provided by traditional medicine institutions should be examined.

The leaders of the Authority also explained the ideas and comments raised during the discussion that the ideas and comments raised are constructive for the institution, and that the Authority is carrying out extensive work by including stakeholders as part of the plan, beyond the powers and functions granted by the proclamation.
