Branch office heads and directors of the sector were briefed on the newly issued SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for the control check list of pharmaceutical retail organizations and the disposal of expired and spoiled medicines in connection with the Safety Level Series (SLR).
The Deputy Director of the Regulatory Sector of the Authority, Ato Enga Ereketa, who attended the forum, stated that a coordinated and consistent procedure should be followed and a common understanding should be maintained to establish a strengthened regulatory system. He said that the work started in connection with the Safety Level Series should be continued and the gaps should be addressed with focus.
The Deputy Director-General also set the next focus, stating that the next 6 months will see a consistent implementation of the regulatory work and the community will be able to access quality and safe services in the health sector. The quality team formed to strengthen the maturity level system should continue to monitor and support the quality of the work. The risk-based regulatory system should be strengthened in the coming months, and a consistent regulatory system and action plan should be established in the regulatory system. Finally, a joint discussion was held on the importance of measuring the benefits of the training provided at the forum and the training delivery and process.
