Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority Yeka Branch Office, Kotebe Area, a special location, on 13/8/2018, the pharmacy that was posted on TikTok, the office's drug control experts and managers went to the location and carried out the necessary control and monitoring work on the pharmacy based on the complaint and suggestion submitted, said Ato Fantahun Tadesse, the branch manager.

Ato Fantahun added that based on the suggestion, the inspection conducted at the facility revealed that the medicine sold was not registered, was sold without a prescription, was not available to a licensed professional, and was sold by an assistant pharmacy. In order to verify the safety of the medicine sold and other medicines available at the facility, a temporary lockdown was taken at the facility until the quality and safety of all medicines at the facility are verified.
