Ms. Tigist Bedada, the Authority’s Director General, explained that the plan's primary objective is twofold: ensuring that products and services posing risks to public health are brought into compliance, and—beyond routine operations—executing specific issues requiring high-level initiative and special attention with heightened focus and superior performance.
It was stated that the 90-day plan comprehensively incorporates priority areas based on the newly amended Proclamation 94/2019 E.C. and the Authority’s mandate; these include technology implementation, risk-based regulatory activities aimed at safeguarding public health and safety, and collaborative efforts. General Manager Ms. Tigist Bedada explained that the plan—which requires special focus and initiative—must be cascaded to all organizational levels and work units, and executed with a sense of urgency. She emphasized that assigned tasks must be carried out responsibly and to a high standard of quality.
The General Manager further stressed that both the planning and execution processes must be guided and evaluated by senior leadership, with continuous monitoring of performance.
