Addis Ababa City Administration Food and Drug Authority announced that preparatory work has begun to ensure customer satisfaction by implementing the Health Professionals Registration, Licensing and Renewal Sub-Department service in a modern and advanced manner.
The Authority is implementing a coordinated technology project with the Innovation Bureau to ensure that the services provided by the Authority meet the needs of the users and provide accessible and timely services. However, since the number of professionals seeking services in our city is large and it is impossible to satisfy them by hosting them in just one service center, the Authority has decided to provide online services to health professionals with degrees and below at the branch offices of the Authority, while health professionals with degrees and above will be provided online at the main Authority office, announced the Authority's General Manager, Ms. Mulu Imebet Tadesse.
The General Manager stated that the provision of health profession registration and licensing services in a cascaded and fully online manner provides an opportunity to serve the client wherever he is; the client's needs and work characteristics, namely the daily work of the health professional, are related to helping people, so that he can use his time to serve wherever he is; it reduces the vulnerability to malpractice and facilitates fast service, and it creates favorable conditions for establishing a modern technological system that is transparent and accountable, and has been implemented.
The General Manager added that the plan is to start operating from November 30, 2018 by completing preparatory work such as technological technical training, preparation of operating manuals, and compliance with regulations. He added that health professionals who are new to professional licenses and renewing their licenses can apply for the service online and access the service. In order to make the process more effective, health professionals should improve their technology skills and can easily access the service by viewing the online application procedures on the institution's social media pages.
