Under the motto "Donate blood, save lives!", staff from the Lideta Branch Office of the Food and Medicine Authority, in collaboration with the National Blood Bank, organized a blood donation drive and contributed 9,900 ml of blood.
This blood donation program is part of a 90-day plan designed to strengthen volunteer activities during the dry season. It aims to enhance the social responsibility and voluntary participation of staff, thereby contributing to life-saving efforts.
In his remarks, Mr. Belayneh Gebru, the Manager of the Branch Office, stated that blood donation is a highly humanitarian act that enables the saving of others' lives. He urged staff to go beyond their regular professional duties and actively engage in voluntary activities that promote the well-being of the community and the saving of lives. Furthermore, it was noted that such initiatives should be continuously strengthened, as the 90-day plan not only fosters a culture of volunteerism within the institution but also provides an opportunity to demonstrate, in practical terms, the institution's responsibility toward the community.
Blood donation contributes to saving human lives, bolstering blood supplies, and promoting the values of mutual support and unity within the community.
