The Directorate of Health Institutions and Professionals Control of the Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority, together with the branch directorates, conducted a performance review of the activities carried out during the first half of the fiscal year.

During the review, the Director of Health Institutions and Professionals Control of the Authority, Ato Gelgelo Oljira, explained that in the first six months of the 2018 fiscal year, 113 health institutions and 709 pharmaceutical retail organizations conducted self-regulation work, 8,955 health professionals were monitored and controlled, expired medicines worth 13,894,497.51 birr were disposed of, and action was taken against 158 ​​health institutions.

In addition, selected branch directorates presented the main activities they had carried out in the past 6 months, and extensive discussions were held to determine the next direction of focus.
